Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, Dr. Elisicia Jiles discovered the love of science early, and thanks to UAB summer science camps, she was able to foster this love further. She attended the historical Arthur Harold Parker High School and graduated from Florida State University (FSU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. It was at FSU that she fully realized her love for health sciences and her calling to be a physician. She attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine and obtained her board certification in Family Medicine after completing her residency at the UAB Family Medicine Residency at Huntsville.
Dr. Jiles served in the U.S. Armed Forces as an Air Force Physician, providing care to veterans and active-duty members alike at Maxwell Air Force Base. She and her family also had the opportunity to serve the great community of Del Rio, TX while her husband was stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base. When looking for a place to settle down after her husband’s retirement, they decided to call the Greater Huntsville area home. Outside of her passion of providing health care to others, she loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. A few of their favorite pastimes are family movies nights, bike riding, family walks, and family game nights. She also loves reading and exercising. She and her family feel fortunate to call the Greater Huntsville area home.
